RICK & MORTY

RICKMOBILE

To promote the animated show Rick and Morty, Adult Swim tapped The XD Agency to create a mobile pop-up shop and nationwide tour that would engage fans and generate contagious excitement from the ground up. 

Cue the Rickmobile — a truck customized to look like the show’s drooling mad scientist of a title character — which has traversed the country, selling merchandise that is aggressively authentic to the show. 

To date, the tour has sold 100,000+ branded items, served 60,000+ fans, generated 50 million+ impressions on social media, and attracted the attention of everyone from Mashable to Playboy. 

POWERPUFF GIRLS

POWFACTOR POP-UP SHOP 

After helping Cartoon Network launch its #Powfactor and #PowerpuffYourself campaigns to promote the reboot of Powerpuff Girls, The XD Agency designed and produced the show's first-ever pop-up shop.

The eye-catching Powfactor Shop, located at 168 Bowery in New York attracted attention from the likes of Adweek and Campaign, led to extensive social buzz, and drew a crowd of thousands each day.

PORSCHE HOSPITALITY AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY 

The XD Agency worked with Porsche to create a high-sheen, highly interactive hospitality program for the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway.

Located in the Pit Row Patios, the Porsche hospitality suite provided guests with access to behind-the-scenes action in the pits, as well as an exclusive hospitality experience, complete with the chance to win hot laps, insights into the endurance challenges of the race, and autograph and photo opportunities with the drivers. And of course, the finest food and beverage, exclusive viewing areas, and a fit and finish befitting Porsche.

KRUG CUP

When luxury champagne house Krug wanted to honor a small group of the world’s most elite sommeliers, high-sheen surroundings and high-end food and beverage would certainly not be enough. 

The XD Agency teamed with Krug to develop a unique experience that was a surprise to the sommeliers, celebrated their achievements, and did it all while organically encouraging them to sell more of the premium champagne. 

The experience included an upscale crab feast at a remote lighthouse, a private sail on the San Francisco Bay, transportation via Rolls Royce, and an intimate panel discussion and celebratory dinner at a never-before-used venue true to the brand’s rough luxe aesthetic.

One million visitors will come to Atlanta, but Mercedes-Benz Stadium only holds 75,000. We call that good odds.

ADAM KNOWS EVERYTHING PREMIERE PARTY

The XD Agency teamed up with truTV to mark the premiere of Adam Ruins Everything with a screening party in Hollywood.  The party was filled with features that celebrated the show’s “ruins” — that is, the respected things the show host ruins for audiences by sharing hidden truths. 

For example, guests arrived to find a red carpet emblazoned with “The red carpet is basically one big ad,” and inside, a blind wine tasting focused on how hard it is to distinguish good wine from bad. Beautiful florals flowed from reference books, emblazoned with “Ordering flowers through large floral networks is terrible for local florists.” And giveaway items were unapologetically marked as “shameless show promotion.”

SQUIDBILLIES SCREENING + TAILGATE

When an influx of football fans packed Jacksonville, Florida, for the rivalry game that is Georgia/Florida, Adult Swim was there to make the most of the fandom. 

The XD Agency teamed with the network to build a 12-foot inflatable squid who sat atop half a dozen inflatable whiskey barrels. A sight for sharing, to be sure. Fans posed with the squid before visiting a nearby restaurant for a screening party, featuring Adult Swim’s animated show “Squidbillies.”  The following morning, the giant redneck squid was relocated to a popular tailgating spot at Florida’s EverBank Field to kick off gameday.

SUNDANCE HQ

In support of its sponsorship of the Sundance Film Festival, Sundance TV tapped The XD Agency to transform the Hope Gallery on Main Street in Park City, Utah, into a multifunctional, interactive manifestation of the Sundance brand. 

The space included replicas of a coffee bar and other key environments from the network’s hit new shows, as well as green-screen photo booth, screen-printing activations, and much more. 

Over the course of the film festival, Sundance HQ hosted eight six-hour days open to the public, five two-hour happy hours, four sponsor events, one press conference and countless interviews, one screening, two panel discussions, and a never-ending stream of A-listers.

MCLAREN AT PEBBLE BEACH

The XD Agency developed a McLaren brand center in conjunction with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, leveraging the automaker’s event sponsorship to further increase awareness and elevate perceptions of the McLaren brand among a segment-savvy, high-net-wortth audience. 

The resulting four-day activation was a tightly programmed mix of ticketed public events, VIP private events, and media presentation and interviews, all featuring product walk-arounds, hospitality services, and test drives. (Test drives alone increased 70 percent over the year prior.)
